Experience of PIACT Bangladesh Relating to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and HIV/AIDS Prevention

PIACT implemented over 100 assignments since its establishment in 1980, which relates to sexual and reproductive health issues.  Since 2000, it completed a number of HIV and AIDS prevention programs.  It also has been implementing a program in Daulatdia brothel since 2003 to promote and protect human rights of sex workers and their children which has direct relevance to SRHR.  Brief description on some of the programs are provided here.

The students may be given supplementary information on SRHR issues to empower them with adequate knowledge; life skills; and health care facilities.  Students may also be oriented on SRHR informing/linking them with youth friendly health centers.
